Uber, Lyft set for Austin return After the state legislature approved House Bill 100 last week, the two ride-hailing giants are just waiting for the signature of Gov. Greg Abbott to resume operations in the state capital. HB 100 establishes statewide ride-hailing regulations, overriding the city of Austin’s ordinance requiring drivers to undergo fingerprint-based background checks.
