For second consecutive year, San Marcos population growth rate declines

San Marcos grew at a modest mid-2 percent rate for the second year in a row, according to U.S. Census estimates released today. The San Marcos population increased 2.2 percent in 2015-16, a slight decrease from the 2.5 percent growth rate the year before. But from 2012-14, no city grew faster than San Marcos. In the last two years, the city has ranked outside the top 75 in growth.
