Collin County home appraisal values continue to rise, but there is still time for homeowners to seek some property tax relief. Residents have until at least Wednesday to file protests with the Collin Central Appraisal District and its counterpart in Denton County. Filing a protest initiates a review process to determine whether the appraisal value was appropriate. The deadline to file protests in most cases is May 31. If the appraisal notice was sent after May 1, the homeowner has 30 days from when the notice was sent to file a protest.
